At the end of 2021 we packed up our little house and two of our beloved golden retrievers and we headed west.
Destination: Montana!
My sons tell me often, “This is God’s country!” Certainly the beauty here is astounding and much of God’s handiwork around us stands untouched. We love the fresh, clean air, the big skies, the mountains that we can see in every direction, and the opportunities to explore remote outdoor places.
We anticipated that moving west would necessitate a property downsize in both indoor and outdoor spaces for ourselves and our animals, so I reluctantly found new homes for all of our pets except Daffy and Trixie (last year’s puppy we had nicknamed “Sugar”). Daffy and Trixie are now content Montana dogs, and they are both happy and healthy. We spend much more time together outside, which has been mutually beneficial.
Trixie celebrated her 1st birthday last month, and she is beautiful in appearance and personality.
Daffy delivered her final litter of puppies on June 8. Her pregnancy, delivery and recovery have been the best ever, and her nine beautiful babies are handsome and healthy.
