Daffodil (we call her Daffy) is beautiful and sweet. She is gentle in her disposition, and just an all-around wonderful family dog.
She was born in 2017 to our lovely Golden Lab, Daisy. Daffy’s father is a stunningly handsome Golden Retriever named Barkley, who was owned by a dear friend.
We could tell from the time she was born that Daffy would take after her father. So we pled puppy-eyes to my husband, and he said yes!
Daffy was playful, cute, fun… and oh, so mischievous! She had an insatiable urge to chew- on everything! Long ago, my kids compiled a list of items bearing her chew marks. Most notable, she enjoyed the top of one of my leather figure skates. But all is forgiven, she has mellowed, and she no longer chews on anything except her own toys.
Daffy grew out of puppyhood and into a fine adult. Her favorite game is “fetch.”
She usually wants to play fetch longer than the person throwing the toy wants to play.
Daffy is a good mother to her puppies. She has carefully tended to her babies from the time of birth, and as they have grown, she enjoys playing with them.
I am so grateful for our beautiful Daffy, and for the beautiful puppies she has borne. She is a gift to our family.
